How do Legacy points work?
Count completed challenges rather than character levels or skill points
Enter the number completed in each of the six categories. One completed challenge gives one Legacy Point; reaching level 25 is a challenge milestone, not an instruction to enter 25 into the category field.
Validate every category before reading the total
Use whole numbers within each printed category maximum. A fractional or out-of-range entry must be corrected; it should not produce an apparently valid partial budget.
Save progress, then plan a character separately
The tracker keeps category counts locally in this browser. Each character can spend its account's points differently, but the tracker does not know chosen perk ranks, row gates or exact perk costs.
Worked examples
Classes 18 + Tradeskills 12 + PvP 7 + Adventure 2 + Dungeons 3 + Raids 3 =45 completed challenges.
Earned 45; spendable at launch 16; surplus progress 29.
This is a worked arithmetic example, not a claim that an account has already earned that progress. The spending cap does not rise with the surplus.
Classes 3 + Tradeskills 3 + PvP 1 + Adventure 1 + Dungeons 1 + Raids 0 =9.
Earned 9; spendable 9; surplus 0.
Below the cap, earned points and the launch budget match. The result still does not allocate any points to a perk.
Classes=28, above the category maximum 27.
Correct the entry before a valid total is shown.
The category records challenges, not an unlimited count of characters or repeated completions of the same account milestone.
Understand what is shared and what is individual
The earned challenge total is account progress, while spending choices belong to each character. You do not divide a single 16-point pool among all characters. Two characters can make different choices while drawing on the same earned total, subject to the per-character cap.
Do not count the same completed account challenge again because another character repeats it. Use the categories as a record of distinct completed milestones. This prevents a large manually entered total from appearing to prove a perk budget the account has not actually unlocked.
Use the result for a decision the tracker can support
The useful output is a clear answer to how much earned progress can fit inside the current cap and how much lies beyond it. It is not a completed talent build. Compare the perk descriptions with the character's actual task, then confirm rank prices and prerequisites in the current game before spending.
If saved values do not reappear, check that you reopened the same browser and site. Local storage is not Battle.net synchronization and may be unavailable or cleared. Keep your own record of important counts; a successful sum on screen is not evidence that a cloud account was updated.

Common questions
Do I need alts for all character advantages?
Blizzard says no; one character can earn enough points for the launch cap.
Do 65 earned points mean 65 spendable points on one character?
No. The launch cap is 16 per character; earned account progress and spending capacity are separate.
Does every character spend the same build?
No. Each character makes its own perk choices from the account's points.
What do I enter in the Classes field after reaching level 25?
Count completed class challenges. A single newly completed level 25 milestone contributes one point, not 25.
What happens with 45 earned points?
The launch calculation is min(45, 16)=16 spendable and max(45−16, 0)=29 surplus progress.
Why does an invalid category stop the total?
Adding only the valid fields could look like a complete budget. Correct every non-integer, negative or above-maximum count first.
Does Save update my Battle.net progress?
No. It preserves manual counts in this browser only. It does not read or write the game's account.
